Polymer Faces with Acrylic Paint

The faces have been painted and sanded. Next I need to figure out how I want to use them. I like the idea of just a single head on a cord - that seems to be how I do most of my work. I am admittedly not a talent when it comes to combining elements in a multi-beaded manner. This is something I need to challenge myself with - do some growth and exploration.

Meanwhile so many of the faces are reminding me of people and characters although none are based on any existing person. I may have to name them!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I love these and like the idea of a single head on a cord, too- they look like little protectors to me and I think you might have to name them...

  2. I love your faces!

They remind me of a Swedish ceramist called Johan Thunell. He makes very expressive faces as wall art. Google his name and you'll see tons of pictures of his "Nyllen" (which is swedish slang for "faces").

Thank you Anna. I was not familiar with Johan Thunell. Wow! His work is great! Thank you for the introduction to his work.

  5. Oh my gosh, those are incredible! each one is a personality of its own.. talk about creativity! So what if you can't make multi-bead pieces. You're pouring your creativity into amazing little sculptures! If I were making these, they'd all be happy face balls.. like this guy :)

and bosom protectors.. that could sell! lol
